“Harmony House Gave Me the Family I Didn’t Know I Needed”
My name is Mady, and before I found Harmony House, I was drowning. I was facing motherhood without a village, escaping a cycle of domestic violence, and trying to survive without the stability or support every young woman—especially an expecting mother—deserves. I felt completely alone and afraid, not knowing how I was going to raise my child or rebuild my life.
Everything changed the day I arrived at Harmony House. I found more than just shelter—I found understanding. The staff showed me what genuine support looks like, and the other moms became my sisters. They wrapped around me during my darkest days, helping me piece together the strength I didn’t know I still had. Whether it was parenting classes, therapy, life skills, or just someone to talk to at 2 a.m., Harmony House was there for every part of my journey.
Because of their support, I was able to heal, grow, and dream again. Today, I’m living over 1,200 miles away from the only place I ever called home, building a peaceful, independent life for me and my child. I made this leap because I now carry a confidence I once thought was impossible for someone like me. Harmony House didn’t just give me shelter—they gave me the tools and love to rewrite my story.
Programs like this are more than important—they are lifesaving. They create space for young women to become empowered, stable, and strong. I’ll forever be grateful for what Harmony House gave me—and I hope every woman in need finds a place like it. With love and hope that other mothers will get an experience like mine.
