For people without a High School Diploma, completing the HiSET test (formerly GED) is the first step in breaking the cycle of poverty. Alternative Education is offered to low income individuals, ages 16 to 80+, who are in pursuit of a High School Diploma or who have been unsuccessful in achieving High School Equivalency.

Available Support

Our certified Alternative Education Instructor provides one-on-one, self-paced instruction so you will be better prepared to complete the HSE.

How much does the program cost?

Nothing, but you must be income eligible. Depending upon available funding, we’ll also cover your testing fees.

Where is Alternative Education offered?

Currently, our service is only available in Yellowstone County at 3116 1st Avenue North. However, we will serve students who are commuting from Big Horn, Carbon, Stillwater and Sweet Grass counties.

Where do I take the Hi-SET test?

The Lincoln Center is Yellowstone County’s testing site. The Lincoln Center is located at 415 North 30th in Billings.

What other tutoring services are available?

Tutoring is available for low-income, high school students for coursework, college prep readiness for the ACT, SAT, as well as drivers license written examination and remedial reading and math for all ages.
